Side note:

To my fellow Brothers and Sisters out in the Christian blogosphere:  Could you please help me out?  I know that the founders of Wendy’s and KFC were Christian.  But are there any good books out there by Christian businessmen?

Money, the root of much evil.  At the church my parents attend on Guam, I remember a few years back, an elder of that congregation told me that he didn’t like or trust business people.  Not in those words exactly, but I heard it.  Maybe he was testing me.  Perhaps he was cheated one too many times.  I still dont’ know.  But that definitely got me thinking.

Does GOD not like business people?  Is there a way to do business that honors GOD?  What about money?  Is it bad?  I encountered attitudes from people in the church that spoke that money was bad.  That it is more spiritual to be poor.  Afterall, our LORD was a carpenter’s son.  He did not have a lot of money.

It has taken me some time, but I feel comfortable with who I am.  I’m not telling everyone I have a lot of money.  I don’t.  But I have the drive to create wealth.  Please don’t confuse that with desiring to be rich as the Bible says it.  Or wanting to have money.  Ooo, that sounds so bad.  Ask my wife, I’m not a materialistic person.  I don’t collect things.  But so much good can be done with money for the glory of Jesus Christ. Sleeping is fun with a little baby boy.  Says me.  My wife gets kicked and slept on by my 1 year old.  So sometimes she retreats to the guest room to get some peace and quiet.  Then I wake up because she’s not next to me.  Then my baby boy falls down off the bed because we were not there to “bracket” him in.  Fun, fun stuff.  If you don’t have a kid yet…I highly recommend it.
