Book suggestions, doh!

January 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Hi,

I just took a trip down to San Francisco to see my long-time friend from high school. Oh, it had been perhaps seven years since I’ve seen him. We’ve both gotten married, my wife and I had a baby, he sold his internet company, sfstation.com, and bought a house in SF (very nice!).  His wife is a senior editor and to make conversation I mentioned that I’m a reader.  She’s a writer and reader, I’m a reader…isn’t that nice?  She then asked me what do I read?  I said the Bible, Christian books, and Christian fiction.

Help!

Having read my about page, could someone or some people please help me out with some books suggestions?  I really need to broaden my horizons when it comes to books.  Really.

Our new President Obama!

January 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

A new president is in the White House.  President Barack Obama!  I’m full of hope for this new administration.  President Obama seems like a strong, intelligent, upright, and passionate leader.  Time will tell.  I’m not sure that I really have anything to add.  There is so much conversation going on about our new president right now.  Just do a google search and you’ll see.  This monumental event should be recorded even in my humble little blog.  I’ll be praying for you, Mr. President.

Religulous

The movie ‘Religulous’ with Bill Maher can be viewed gratis here.  It’s good to see another perspective.  Bill Maher raises some good questions and has a good point that perhaps some of us Christians can get a little kooky and too serious.

Are gay people born gay?

January 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Before people start hating, let me first say.  I never had any gay friends.  Not that gay people cannot be friends with me, I like all kinds of people.  But that’s the fact.  Guam is one of those places where there are really no homeless and you hardly ever come across a gay person.  Strange, huh?  And overall, Chinese people are not gay.  I think those of you with greater understanding and command of the English language know what I mean.

My wife has cousins that are gay.  So now, I have family that is gay.  And I choose to love and understand my family. (more…)
