Commentary on da’ Major Prophets – Jeremiah

Jeremiah was very young when the LORD called him to task. He was to preach to the kings, prophets, priests, everyone who would listen b/c the LORD was going to bring down calamity from the North. The LORD was warning Israel that she was going to be judged and not only judged, exiled.

GOD was so angry. I have read up to Jeremiah 9. He was talking about all the punishments He was going to inflict on the people for unfaithfulness to Him, the unfaithfulness of wives to husbands, the unfaithfulness of the priests and prophets to their service or ministry. He was just so frustrated and angry and wanted to just destroy them all.

And good quote”
“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom
or the strong boast of their strength
or the rich boast of their riches,
24 but let the one who boasts boast about this:
that they have the understanding to know me,
that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,”
declares the LORD.

What is GOD talking about with the idols? I’m going stellar and talk about consciousnesses. When an idol is produced and written about and mass distributed. It is said that enough people believe in it and project onto it. This concept is not familiar to me yet. But think about how you can project an image onto someone else when they really are not like that. You get to know them, and you find out that you were interacting with a ‘ghost’ from your past and not the actual person.

Well, sometimes when enough people ‘believe’ in an idol, this idol will achieve consciousness of some sort and then it can actually make things happen for people. But this power to manifest reality is really within everyone’s power. They just needed a GOD to ‘make it happen’ for them. GOD is a real GOD, and not a created god. So, that is my explanation of why GOD is angry. He is/was the Creator of the people, yet they turn to creations of their own to worship and know, when they in their heart of hearts may know their Creator-Father, Creator-Mother.

Starting chapter 25, we start to see Jeremiah conflicting with ALL the priests and prophets of the land. At this point, the land and the people were totally overrun with sin and wrongdoing. The LORD never holds the people accountable, for the just do what they see. So the leadership is always to be blamed. They are after unjust gain and well, the priests and prophets never consulted the LORD. What does that mean? Jeremiah and it seems Ezekial was contemporary; no one ever came to see them. Prophets who went to see them may have brought small gifts b/c true prophets don’t have anything. They ‘depend’ on others just as priests unless they are of the Order of Melchizedek, then they are Priest-Kings/Priestess-Queens. That is different. But these guys it seemed had the Word of the LORD, truly. So, maybe priests and prophets didn’t want to listen to them. GOD never said to bow down to them, but if you really wanted to know what is happening or what is going to happen you have to talk with them. Sometimes it is a matter of faith to believe that someone that is that ugly, that poor looking, that slow, that weak looking could be the one the WORD of GOD chooses to speak with and through. But that is GOD’s choice. There are many that the WORD speaks to, but the local system of priests and prophets connect to Christ through that person.

So why is a prophet’s training so difficult? Because prophets cannot, cannot, cannot say or do anything (mostly say though, doing is more difficult) that is not what GOD wanted them to say. Prophets must be very close to GOD and only depend on GOD. They cannot love things of the world and they cannot be moved by passions or momentary things. It seems GOD is harsh on them, but He is and why? If you want to be a prophet to wow other people or to have power over other people or to have money or gifts then you will be that kind as Hananiah. It is not that serious to want a good life, but if your calling is to be a person of GOD and then you make your life not about service to GOD but about earthly pleasures; then it is somewhat serious.

Jeremiah was the prophet in Jerusalem, the Holy of Holies. Judah was Holier than Israel. So Jeremiah stayed in Jerusalem during the exile to Babylon.

For this is what the LORD says: ‘David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of Israel, 18 nor will the Levitical priests ever fail to have a man to stand before me continually to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to present sacrifices.’

A comment on the Rekabites, they held fast to their father’s command to be Nazarites, even when Jeremiah tested them by saying, “Drink wine!” So, part of being a prophet is being tested just as Abraham was. So did Abraham pass or fail? Prophets must know what is right and what is wrong, even in the face of great adversity or in this case, greater authority. So do we know the ranks of Heaven so we know who has greater authority? Most of us do not. But mostly we have to listen to our fathers.

Jeremiah was even thrown in prison. Jeremiah was merely delivering the Words from GOD. So his mistreatment was people angry at GOD’s judgements on them. The authorities thought that by mistreating Jeremiah that would deter GOD from his judgements. But when things happened exactly as Jeremiah said they would, the authorities were ready to listen.

I can’t find any references to Josiah’s five sons. Could they be?

Jehoiacin same as Jeconiah same as Neri?
Jehoiakim same as Eliakim,
Jehoahaz (died?),

what about –

Ezekial and Jeremiah?

Could Ezekial had been Jehoahaz? Or Jeremiah the fifth son of Josiah? Hm. Or could Jeremiah have been Jehoiachin and wrote the book of Jeremiah from a fictional perspective, b/c how do you explain how the story ends? Why would he be so interested in the Kings and Kingly line if he was just some bum prophet albeit THE PROPHET. Hm.

Here is where I get goofy. It is my hunch or instinct that tells me here we see sons of GOD (perhaps 4 of the royal line) branching out into Babylon and maybe even beyond. It is possible that these sons went elsewhere even to China. For it seems that China is the final frontier when it comes to people being saved. China, it seems is Gog and Magog of Revelations. Also, remember the old Chinese legend of the Five Chinese Brothers? Maybe they are the five sons of Josiah. Ridiculous, but things that make you go – Hm.

Why do I say this? I am beginning to see that the people in the Bible were not just arbitrary characters. They were all family. They were related or at least friends. Many of them had different names for the same person if you understand what I mean. So this business of saving people is really a family business.

Back to the business of who were Josiah’s sons? How about Daniel? How could he confess the sins of Israel or Judah if he was royalty. And he was if you read carefully. That’s why the King of Babylon took him.
